Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, and thank you for all of the love and support throughout 2018! It was definitely another red-letter year, and not the kind of red letters you don’t want to see when you get your school projects back or look at your accounting records. I’ve had those kinds of red-letter years, too. Anyway, here’s a quick recap:

Book Launch – The book launch far surpassed my expectations, and I can’t thank you all enough for helping. I have, to date, distributed 160 copies throughout 7 different countries. Over half of that was through a free ebook giveaway I did for promotional purposes later in November, but I’ve sold 74 copies which has resulted in enough royalties to pay a few bills this winter which is astounding. The weekend the book was released, it made it to #1 New Release for Christian Fantasy on Amazon and into several other top 100 Best Sellers Lists in other genres.

Many of you know I entered a book cover in a contest in December, and I made it to the third round! My main goal in the contest was mostly more exposure anyway, so with your help, my book was up on that website for three weeks being seen by anyone scrolling through the entries.

What Else Have I Been Doing? – This is always a difficult question for me to answer because there always seems to be so many things I’m doing at once. I’m not currently working a “normal” job. I’m back to teaching horsemanship as the weather permits, and that has been going very well. I had a fantastic group of clients this year who were very dedicated to improving their horsemanship skills. Britton and I celebrated our one year anniversary by going on a 34 mile backpacking trip. We’re both glad that we did it once and will continue to be glad that we did it once.

I love how the new year provides a fresh perspective on life. I get unreasonably excited about throwing away my old calendar and putting up a new, clean one. I have so many ideas and goals. Here are a few:

  • Eat more food
  • Develop my horseback riding skills/get Roxy in shape
  • Develop and keep a social media posting schedule for my writing and horsemanship pages
  • Monthly blog post (yay!)
  • And finally…

FINISH DRAFT 1 OF EILINLAND 2!!!

Yes, the series will continue. I’ve been tossing around ideas in my head for months now. I finally have a skeleton of a plot, I know what new challenges our beloved Eilinland characters will be facing, and I’m already almost 10,000 words in. Book 1 was just over 60k, and my goal for book 2 is 80k. I’ll be posting updates on my progress on Instagram and Facebook, so be sure to follow me on one or the other if you want to be part of the process and cheer me on! Goodness knows I’ll need it on the days I write myself into a corner and don’t know what to do. 😛

I’d love to hear about some of your goals in the comments below! Happy 2019!
